Rebuilding Stop N Go Drive In
Donation protected
On July 18th, Stop N Go Drive Inn caught on fire and has been deemed a total loss. The walls still stand, but the inside was completely gone by the time the fire was extinguished. Stop N Go has been a Yakima landmark since 1948. The owners, Anthony and Josie Wade, were devastated by the news. Anthony's parents, Wilbert and Christine Wade, purchased the restaurant in 1996. Wilbert ran the restaurant until 2000, when he passed away in a car accident. At that time, Anthony was 14 years old. Christine continued to keep the business afloat until Anthony was old enough to take it over. At 18, Anthony took over and has been running the restaurant ever since. The restaurant is very important to rebuild and keep in the family for the Wade's. As Josie stated, "This restaurant means so much to our family as it is a wonderful piece of Wilbert left behind for us to enjoy."
Anthony and Josie are planning on rebuilding the restaurant. They have insurance coverage and are working through to see what options they have. Hopefully the insurance money will be enough for them to get the restaurant back up and running, but there is no guarantee it will cover everything.
Lets turn this tragedy into a blessing and help the Wade's rebuild and make Stop N Go even better than before. On behalf of Anthony and Josie and their two beautiful kids Jada (6) and Cameron (3), they want to thank the community for all of the kind words and support since this unfortunate event.
