Hi, my name is Katie McDaniel, and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my mom, Sandra, something she would never do for herself.

Early this morning, my mom’s home caught fire and was a complete loss. This was not just a house; it was her home for over 45 years. She bought it when she was just 18 years old, and it held a lifetime of memories that are now gone.

Sadly, she did not have homeowners insurance, leaving her with nothing and no way to recover on her own—especially right before the holidays.

My mom also lives with a traumatic brain injury from an accident when she was only 12 years old, after being run over while getting off a school bus. Despite the challenges she has faced throughout her life, she has always been strong, independent, and never one to ask for help.

This fundraiser is to help cover immediate needs such as clothing, temporary housing, food, and basic necessities, and to help her begin rebuilding her life.
