Rebuilding Rusty and Diana's Home

Donation protected
My name is Anita, and in the wake of unimaginable loss, amidst the flames that ravaged their beloved home during the Panhandle wildfires on February 27th, my parents, Rusty and Diana, find themselves grappling with a reality that seemed inconceivable just days ago. Their cherished home, where laughter echoed through the halls for over four decades, now stands as a memory engulfed in ashes. The flames may have consumed the physical structure, but I am hopeful that their spirit of resilient.

For 44 years, my dad poured his sweat, his heart, and his soul into crafting their home with his own hands. Every nail, every beam, bore witness to his dedication and unwavering love for his family. My parents raised me and my brother within those walls, nurturing dreams, weathering storms, and forging bonds that stood the test of time. Our home wasn't just a house; it was a sanctuary of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Even thought they face they daunting task of rebuilding, I know that they are not alone. They are surrounded by a community that has been touched by their kindness, their warmth, and their enduring love for each other. In December of 2023, they celebrated 50 years of love, commitment, and unwavering devotion. Now, as they navigate through this trying chapter of their lives, we have an opportunity to rally around them and return the love and support they have so generously bestowed upon others.

Despite the devastation, there is a glimmer of hope amidst the ashes. My parents were able to save their two beloved pets, a testament to their quick thinking and deep love for their furry companions. However, beyond their cherished animals, little else was salvaged from the flames.

Losing everything at any age would be devastating, but in retirement, it's almost unimaginable. After a lifetime of hard work and dedication, they were so looking forward to the tranquility of their golden years, surrounded by the comfort of their home and the warmth of their memories. Now, they face the daunting task of rebuilding from the ground up, at an age where many would dream of relaxation and peace.

Every donation, no matter how small, will serve as a beacon of hope amidst the ashes, a tangible reminder that even in our darkest moments, we are never alone.

My dad is my hero, and it is crushing to watch everything that he spent the last 44 years building just disappear.

All donations will be used to help them build back their safe space to take them into their golden years. Thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your unwavering support. It means the world to me, and I know it means the world to them.
