Rebuilding Pointe Michel Dominica

Our family here on Martha's Vineyard has been directly impacted by the most recent hurricanes that have torn through many parts of the Caribbean, leaving unimaginable devastation in their path.
Ericson Pitman and I, and our 3 children, are year round residents of Martha's Vineyard. Ericson is originally from the coastal village of Point Michel on the island of Dominica. Ericson's mother, brother, step father, aunts and cousins all still reside in Point Michel. Hurricane Maria ravaged Dominica just over two weeks ago, and Point Michel was one of the most severely affected areas.
For days after the hurricane there was no word as to whether Ericson's family was even alive, as all communications were lost and there were at least 15 fatalities in the area. At this time we know that 95% of homes have lost their roofs and many were completely destroyed. People's livestock have perished. Food and clean water are very scarce. Still there is no electricity.
Ericson and I have begun this campaign to raise funds to support the residents of Pointe Michel in beginning to rebuild their lives, urgently starting with the very basics of food, water, medical supplies, and building supplies.
Ericson will be flying into Guadeloupe, a close neighboring island to Dominica. The raised funds will be used to purchase supplies to help rebuild homes and possibly hire workers locally within Pointe Michel, Dominica.
We will be posting pictures, videos and written updates. An accounting of how all the funds have been used will be kept.
It is hard to express in words how urgent and dire the situation is for the people of Dominica. Any amount of support is so very deeply appreciated.
