Hello,

My name is Sofia Vazquez, and I'm reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for help. My family and I have been struck by the devastating effects of Hurricane Lidia which made landfall near our home south of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The hurricane not only disrupted our lives but left us in a state of turmoil with our homes and our beloved cafe/wine bar all severely affected.

The hurricane's relentless force tore through our homes, shattering windows and ripping away our roofs. The house I share with my father, Juan Carlos Vazquez, was damaged, and the home of my mother, Alicia Vazquez, is now uninhabitable. The place she called home for so many years is now a shell, leaving her without shelter. Our cafe/wine bar, a cherished space for our community, was not spared either. Countless items were broken, and the interior was severely damaged, making it impossible for us to reopen without substantial repairs.

As you can imagine, the financial burden of restoring our homes and business is immense, and it's one we simply cannot shoulder alone. We are a family who has always prided ourselves on self-sufficiency and supporting our community, but now we find ourselves in need of help. We are so blessed to live in Mismaloya, a small fishing village with a tight-knit community that has given us more love and support than we could ever imagine, but most have lost more than us.

We are reaching out to our family and friends, and even to those who may not know us personally but are willing to help in our time of need. We are seeking your generosity, your support, and your kindness to assist us in rebuilding our lives.

Every dollar counts, and your contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our journey to recovery. Your help will enable us to restore our homes and business, not just for us but for the community that has come to love us and our cafe/wine bar.
