Early December of last year, our farm experienced the worst flood in 30 years and lost over 700 feet of riverbank (2 acres of land), a calf barn, and a chicken coop, and destroyed acres of fences.
The clean-up efforts are daunting and expensive. We need to build a new chicken house structure and build a small calf barn on the land away from the river. As soon as the fields dry out for us to get tractors on the ground, we will start the arduous work of rebuilding the fences so we can begin rotational grazing for our cattle. Our layer baby chicks are arriving soon and they will need a safe chicken house structure by April.
We understand the vast hardships of farming, but this one has been harder to bounce back from. We appreciate any help, and are so grateful for our community, it's why we keep doing what we do.
