REBUILDING OUR COMMUNITY STORE – RICE’S MARKET
Donation protected
Rice’s Market, build in 1912, is a famous landmark in Brockton. On November 12th, 2020 disaster struck and the entire store was burnt to the ground.
Rice’s Market has been serving the community for many, many years and was previously owned by the late Jose Antonio Pina Andrade known as Totone. Mr. Andrade (Tonone) was a Cape Verdean Native who owned several businesses in Brockton. He was well known for his kindness in the community and was known for saying he would not let anyone go hungry.
The current owner of the market, Orlando Andrade, bought the store from his father in 1997. Mr. Orlando Andrade wanted to follow in his dad’s foot steps to serve and feed the community. Along with his family, Orlando has been proudly serving the community since then. Orlando has brought his passion for the culinary arts to the market and reestablished the kitchen. With great pride and honor, Orlando looks forward to serving the community each day with Cape Verdean, American, Spanish and other ethnic foods. Rice’s Market is also well known for catering on a large scale. Mr. Orlando and his family would like to preserve the city’s landmark, rebuild the market better than ever, and proudly serve the community once again.
We are kindly asking for any donations to fulfill this commitment. Any amount is very much appreciated.
We love our community and appreciate all of your kindness.
All proceeds will go to the REBUILDING OF THE NEW MARKET.
We would be very grateful if you can share this with friends and networks.
Thank you so much.
