Dear Circus Community,
On May 21, 2024 the water main pipe burst beneath the building of our beloved circus space at 6 Carlaw Avenue in Toronto. The water poured in for over 6 hours before it was shut off leaving our entire first floor of our studio completely under water causing extensive damage to our equipment and facilities. It was a heartbreaking setback to say the least.
There was extensive damage to the entire building that still requires remediation and construction. We waited weeks and weeks hoping and praying everything could be fixed, but it had become clear that we needed to leave our space and start over again. It’s been a stressful time not knowing if we could bounce back from such a disaster…especially after just surviving the pandemic.
BUT, our community is too important and we decided to fight back once again and not let this stop us. Despite the initial shock, we couldn’t imagine there could ever be a silver lining. We now believe there is one - we found a new studio and we believe it’s even better than our last one! Onward and upward!
We are currently now in the re-building phase. We are receiving some money from insurance but it is unfortunately a small percentage of what we really need to replace all of the equipment lost to water damage, and all the expenses it will take to turn a space into a proper circus space. It is not going to be easy, but we are committed to work hard to make it happen, but we cannot do it alone.
In order to re-open we really need your help….
If you love The Circus Fix and our amazing community as much as we do, are a circus enthusiast or have a friend or family member that loves circus, we are hoping that you might be able to help us rebuild. Any amount would be appreciated, nothing is too small!
As a token of our gratitude:
*For donations of $40 or more you will receive a Circus Fix tote
*For donations of $80 or more you will receive an Aerial or Ground circus class
*For donations of $200 or more you will receive a 4 class pass to either Aerial or Ground classes
Thank you so much for your continued support and all the messages you have sent us! We miss our circus community so much and can’t wait to be climbing with you in our new circus home again soon!
Love and Circus
The Circus Fix
