Hi, my name is Maria, and I’m writing on behalf of my lola, Linda Palalay, whose home was devastated by the recent flooding on the North Shore.
My lola and lolo built their life on Haona St. after getting married in the sixties. It’s where they raised four children and later welcomed nine grandchildren who grew up surrounded by their unconditional love and support.
Since my lolo passed, my lola has cherished her home even more. It’s been her comfort, her sanctuary, and a place that keeps her connected to him. Over the past few years, she has endured so much, and through it all, her home has been her safe space.
With the flood, the house and car were severely damaged, and many of her belongings, including furniture, keepsakes, and essentials were lost and could not be repaired.
We are raising funds to help repair her home so she can return to the place that means so much to our family. Any support, whether through donations or sharing truly means the world to us.
We are incredibly grateful for the kindness and strength of the community that continues to show up for the North Shore.
Mahalo!
