Rebuilding My Life & Studio After Losing Everything in Gaza

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jane Han and I live in Milwaukee, WI, USA. I am managing this campaign for my friend Fouad Khader, a professional musician in Gaza. He has lost everything and needs support to survive the unimaginably difficult conditions of this genocide. Funds will be transferred to my bank account and then sent to Fouad via Western Union. They will be used for basic living expenses until it is possible to start rebuilding his home and his studio. Here is Fouad’s story in his own words:

My name is Fouad Khader, a musician and artist born and raised in Gaza my entire life.
Music was my world and my everything, and always will be! Before the war, I owned my home and a small music production studio that I had long dreamed of, and built piece by piece with my own hard work and sweat. This place was not only my source of livelihood, but also a space to create beauty and hope amidst a besieged life; a space to connect with the world through music. As I write this today without real shelter or stability, I dream to rebuild my home and my music studio, where I hope to amplify music from Gaza to the world. I wish to resume my simple life and work, and to continue my mission of teaching music to children who deserve joy amidst all this painful loss.

In October 2023, the war began, and with it my life began to crumble like all Gazans. In December of that year, my house was bombed, and everything was reduced to rubble.
My home, my music studio, and everything I had accumulated over the years. I have since been displaced more than 19 times and counting. In June 2025, the worst thing I feared happened. The place I had sought refuge in was bombed again. I lost my beloved mother, and the rest of my family members were injured. I survived the bombing because I was at work that day.

I couldn’t leave northern Gaza for the longest time, despite the bombing and famine, because I felt a responsibility towards the children I was teaching in singing and music. Even as a refugee, I tried to keep music alive. I organized simple choir rehearsals and offered recreational workshops for children to ease the burden of war.

Your donations will be a real lifeline! They will enable me to secure a safe place for me and my family, to rebuild the studio that was our livelihood and our life, and to persevere in connecting music from Gaza to the world.

Any support from you, no matter how small, is a glimmer of hope!
Thank you for your kind hearts and for everyone who extends their support.
