Rebuilding My Life from the Ashes of a Fire

Beauty for ashes. A week ago today, November 1, 2019, the home I was living in was annihilated by fire, with all my belongings. Apart from my life, and my beautiful dog, I was left with only the clothes on my back. On the day of my calamity, you lifted me with prayer, words of encouragement, and generous donations. A friend lovingly offered a home to my Bernese Mountain Dog, Apollo; Another offered me a place to live during this transition; a coworker gave me a gift card to buy some clothes, yet others gave magnanimously. Colleagues, people who I have never met before, family and friends all reached out in kindness. THANK YOU!

It would have been easy to recoil in sadness; but, like a flood, God’s grace and mercy rushed in, lifted me – and offered me a new beginning, through you. Many have asked how they can help. So I am setting my ego aside, accepting the fact that there are times we need help from each other. I have not reached my goal yet, but I want to express my sincere appreciation for your kindness towards me thus far.
