Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
My name is Jamie Hribal, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart but a hopeful spirit.
On June 25th, 2025, my apartment was consumed by a devastating fire that left me with nothing but the clothes on my back. In a matter of moments, everything I’ve worked so hard to build—my home, my belongings, my sense of security—was reduced to ashes.
I’m still processing the shock of this loss. The fire took irreplaceable memories, cherished photos, and the little things that made my space a home. More than that, it’s left me facing an uncertain future. I’m safe, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful, but the road to rebuilding feels overwhelming. I’ve lost essential items like furniture, clothing, electronics, and important documents, and I’m now navigating temporary housing and the costs of starting over.
I’ve always been someone who tries to face challenges with resilience, but I can’t do this alone. That’s why I’m turning to this incredible community for support. Your generosity, no matter how small, will help me take the first steps toward recovery.
With your support, I’m aiming to raise $10,000 to get back on my feet. Here’s how I plan to use every dollar to rebuild my life:
- Security Deposit for a New Apartment: $1,200
I need a stable place to call home. This will cover the security deposit for a modest one-bedroom apartment, based on average rental costs in my area.
- First and Last Month’s Rent: $2,400
To move into a new apartment, I’ll need to pay the first and last month’s rent upfront. This ensures I have a secure place to live for at least two months while I regain stability.
- Power Tools Replacement: $1,500
My work in maintenance and networking depends on my tools, all of which were lost. This will replace essentials like:
- A professional-grade cordless drill and impact driver ($300)
- A digital multimeter ($150)
- A comprehensive hand tool kit ($200)
- A 66 Block Punch Down Tool and crimping tool ($100)
- A CAT 5/6 Continuity Cable Tester ($150)
- A cordless circular saw ($200)
- A tool storage case ($100)
- Miscellaneous networking tools ($300)
These will help me get back to work and earn a living.
Furniture and Household Essentials: $2,000
To make my new apartment a home, I need basics like:
- A bed frame and mattress ($600)
- A sofa or seating ($400)A kitchen table and chairs ($300)
- A microwave and toaster oven ($200)
- Bedding, towels, and curtains ($200)
- Kitchenware like pots, pans, and dishes ($300)
Clothing Replacement: $800
I lost all my clothes in the fire.
This will replace:
- Work clothes, including durable pants and steel-toe boots ($400)
- Casual clothing and outerwear ($300)
- Undergarments and accessories ($100)
Electronics Replacement: $1,000
- To stay connected and work, I need:
- A laptop for networking tasks and job applications ($600)
- External hard drives and peripherals ($300)
- Chargers and accessories ($100)
- Temporary Living Expenses: $500
- While I transition to a new apartment, I need funds for:
- Temporary housing, like a hotel or Airbnb ($300)
- Food and transportation ($200)
- Replacement of Important Documents and Certifications: $300
- I need to replace critical documents lost in the fire, including:
- Driver’s license & passport ($100)
- Certifications ( $100 )
- Other paperwork or expedited fees ($50)
- Emergency Fund for Unexpected Costs: $500
This will act as a buffer for unforeseen expenses, like medical costs or extra transportation, to help me through this transition.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your network means the world and helps spread the word to those who might be able to contribute.
Im humbled by the thought of your support and deeply grateful for any help you can offer.
This fire took so much, but it can’t take away my hope or the kindness of people like you.
Together, we can turn this tragedy into a new beginning.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Jamie
