My story goes like this…

On May 30th, 2025, I went out for a ride on my motorcycle and as I got home, I rode up on the sidewalk to enter the driveway. The rear tire slid out from underneath me, and I used my left arm and left leg to try to push the bike back up as I was still seated. Bad idea!!! I ended up falling/jumping off the back of the bike and landing on my butt. Didn’t think I was hurt at first, but an hour later I couldn’t walk and was in excruciating pain. My neighbor called 911, and that trip ended with me being in Halifax Hospital for about 5 months. I have osteoporosis, and my bones are breaking. This time I broke my pelvis, sacrum, pubic bone, and coccyx. Unfortunately, when I went to rehab, they broke my sacrum even more. So, I decided to get rehab at home. After 3 months, I was able to return home and recover.

Then, 2 weeks later, I laid down for a nap and woke up with a dead left arm. I thought it had just fallen asleep and would come back. But no, that did not happen. I went back to the hospital thinking I had a stroke. After days of numerous tests, the neurosurgeon told me I have brachial plexus palsy. It has to do with nerves in my neck, armpit, and shoulder, caused by trauma or injury, and it could take up to two years to fully recover. Oh no, not good. Then I was released home with only one arm working, walking with a cane or walker, and in severe pain from breaking my pelvis, etc.

Then, a couple of weeks after that, my neighbor and I packed a bag to go spend some time at the beach. I thought he had the bag in his hands, but he had set it down behind me. I turned to leave and tripped over it, falling hard on the kitchen floor. I didn’t have a working arm to put down to break my fall, and I went down hard. Once again, 911. It turns out, I broke my hip, femur, and spine. I had surgery the next day. They put a titanium rod and pins in my leg and hip. So, I’m learning to walk again.

And amidst all this, social security had stopped my disability benefits. I am 3 months behind on everything. My power was shut off, water still hasn’t been paid but it’s running, I could not afford car insurance so I surrendered my license plate and they still suspended my license and need to get insurance and pay a $500 fee to DMV for them to reinstate my license. I’m also behind on my lot rent and owe $643.05 and if not paid on the 4th of each month, the office will turn over papers to civil court and take writ of possession and I will have ten days to vacate. And since they took me to court over one month's lot rent, I now owe them attorney fees and must pay $800 on the 15th of April, May, and June. I have been calling every nonprofit to no avail. And that’s why I’m asking to help with this fundraiser. I need funds to rebuild myself and my life. I would be so grateful for anything. I’m usually the one helping, but now I need the help. Please, and I thank you very much. Anyone please help me today so I can go into the office and pay my rent. PLEASE I feel so helpless. I try to keep faith in God, and prayer, I know he’s listening and by my side. Thank you for reading my story and helping me pick myself back up, so I can start living again.
