Who I am

My name is Nisal Fernando. I’m from Sri Lanka, currently staying at my family home that was hit hard by the recent flood.

Where I’m from

My home is in a flood-affected area in Sri Lanka, and the photos show exactly what the water level was like around and inside the house.

Who I’m raising funds for

This campaign is for myself and my family, who live in this house. We’re the ones directly affected by the damage, and we’re the ones who will be using the funds to rebuild.

How the funds will be used

Here’s how I plan to spend the donations, as clearly as possible:

• Cleaning and disinfecting the entire ground floor after the water recedes

• Repairing electrical wiring and replacing damaged electrical outlets

• Repainting walls and fixing water-logged wooden doors and windows

• Replacing essential items we lost, like clothing, bedding, and basic furniture

• Repairing or replacing any damaged appliances

• Supporting temporary living costs while the house is being repaired

I understand that I’m responsible for using the money exactly as stated, and my goal is simply to get my home back to a safe, livable condition.
