Asalaamu’alaykum!
My name is Ahmed Serdah, and I am a computer engineer living in Gaza. Currently, my beloved home is amidst the ravages of war. I am a husband and a father to four beautiful children – three daughters, Tala, Layan, and Sham, and one son, Moean. They are my world, and I am determined to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
The recent conflict has left us devastated. Our home has been burned, leaving us homeless and vulnerable. Adding to the hardship, I have lost my job due to the ongoing war, making it incredibly challenging to provide support for my family. The future of my children hangs in the balance, their education has been disrupted, with schools destroyed and precious learning time lost.
Our once vibrant living room now lies in ruins, destroyed by the devastating impacts of war. This was once the heart of our home, where we gathered as a family.

Allow me to share a bit about my remarkable children. Tala, my 14-year-old daughter, is one of the brightest students in her school, showing great promise for the future. Layan, aged 13, possesses a unique spark and determination. Sham, at 7 years old, is full of curiosity and potential. And my youngest, Moeen, aged 6, is a bundle of joy and innocence.

Here are my precious children, from the right Tala, Layan, Moeen and Sham, the light of my life. Despite the challenges we face, their resilience and optimism inspire me every day. They are my reason for striving to create a better future, filled with hope and opportunity.

In brighter times, I had the privilege of working at Gaza Sky Geeks, an organization dedicated to empowering freelancers and coders in Gaza. Here, I had the opportunity to support talented individuals in gaining the technical skills they need to help them start their own business. Unfortunately, the devastating impact of the war has deeply affected the community we serve.
I am reaching out for help through this fundraising campaign to secure a better future for my family. We dream of escaping the horrors of war and finding safety and stability elsewhere. With your support, we can rebuild our lives, provide a safe environment for our children to grow and thrive, and ensure they receive the education they deserve.
In total, we need £60,000 to secure our journey to safety and start a new life. This amount will cover the costs of travel from Gaza to Egypt, with nearly £16,000 needed for transportation expenses, £7,913 required for me and my wife (£3,956 for each) and £7,913 (£1,978 each) necessary for our four children, as specified for those aged 16 and younger. Nearly £1,000 is required for the risky journey from the north to the south of Gaza, a crucial step in our quest for safety. Finally, £43,000 is to cover our expenses and ensure our security while temporarily residing in Egypt as I explore job opportunities as a computer engineer.
Your generosity will make a world of difference to my family. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to a brighter tomorrow. Together, we can give my children the chance to fulfil their potential and lead fulfilling lives.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering our cause and, for your kindness and support during these challenging times.
With gratitude,
Ahmed Serdah
