Rebuilding Lives & Hope in Hampton, St. James

My name is Kedisha Chisholm, and I’m writing this with tears in my eyes as I think about the devastation Jamaica is going through right now. Hurricane Melissa tore through Hampton, St. James, Jamaica, and many other parts of the country, leaving behind nothing but destruction and heartbreak. Many of my family members no longer have homes to return to. Roofs are gone, walls have crumbled, and everything families worked their whole lives for has been washed away. Roads are blocked, making it nearly impossible to reach medical care or supplies. The little that remains is quickly running out. People are going hungry. Children are sleeping in damp shelters. The elderly and sick are in desperate need of medicine and help. And with so many businesses and farms destroyed, no one knows how they’ll earn an income again. We are doing everything we can to support one another, but our community simply can’t do this alone. That’s why I’m asking for your help — for the people of Hampton, St. James, Jamaica.
Your donation will help us provide:
• Warm meals and clean drinking water
• Clothing and basic supplies for displaced families
• Temporary housing and materials to give people a safe place to sleep
• Medical assistance and transportation for those who can’t reach clinics
Any donations/gifts can mean a family gets to eat tonight or a child has a dry place to rest.
Please, if you can, help my family rebuild what Hurricane Melissa has taken from them. Every dollar, every share, every prayer matters. From the bottom of my heart — thank you for caring.
