Fellow Silhouette Shooters: In the dark early-morning hours of 12/5/2017 the Sylmar Creek wildfire driven by Santa Ana winds destroyed the Los Angeles Silhouette Club (“LASC”) facility. Our club/meeting house, office, restrooms and kitchen area and their contents were incinerated. The equipment needed to run our events and activities was gone. We are a small club, and are asking for help to replace that which was lost so we can continue our silhouette shooting matches.
Who will benefit:
Our events are open to the public, and we provide a wonderful place for family outdoor recreational shooting in a safe environment. Our range is also utilized for practice and safety training by many local law enforcement groups and other organizations. Our club activities also help support the Los Angeles Young Marines, which depend on income from our club to keep serving inner-city youths in recreation, prevention and intervention educational programs.
What Will The Funds Be Used For:
LASC must replace so much to re-open and continue operating. The club house, office, restrooms, kitchen area and patio must be re-built. We have to replace our computer system, programs, office equipment, firearms, furniture, PA systems, electrical system, cabinets, maintenance supplies, kitchen equipment, refrigerators, all destroyed in the fire. This has been a huge financial loss for such a small club and we cannot do this without the help of donations.
Our goal is to get all the funds within 120 days, but start rebuilding as quickly possible as funds are donated. The club members are dedicated to getting this wonderful little range up and running so LASC can continue its shooting activities and serving the community.
We are asking for help from our fellow shooters and anyone who can donate whatever amount they are able so we can rebuild after this tragic wildfire. Club members deeply appreciate any and all contributions to help get L.A.'s best silhouette range back in business!
