Aloha, I’m Keao NeSmith. My house in Kekaha, Kauai suffered severe damage in Hurricane Lowell on Sept. 7, 2026. Damages include the entire roof of the back wing of the house blown off; living room wall collapsed completely in the wind and rain, a large hole is there now exposed to the elements; multiple projectiles (tree branches) lodged into the roof, will likely require the replacement of the roof; waterline and powerline breaks in the back wing (torn away along with the roof in the wind). Can’t reconnect the electricity until that is fixed. Funds would go to paying repairmen.
POWER WAS RESTORED TO THE HOUSE ON SEPTEMBER 15 AFTER REPAIRING A CRUCIAL POWER LINE. BUILDING MATERIAL COSTS ARE HIGHER THAN ANTICIPATED.
