Rebuilding Joan and Bev's Tornado-Damaged Home
Donation protected
This is totally out of our wheelhouses and comfort zones but a few people have asked us if we have a GoFundMe account, so here it is.
Firstly, thanks to those that have reached out during this surreal experience, we appreciate the thoughts and support after the tornado. We lost the back part of our house, our sitting room, laundry room, half of our roof and some outside wall panels. Our water has just come back on after a few days of being without, and we have power. Thank you to all that have reached out in support and caring.
While Joan was home alone during this event and was shaken and overwhelmed. Bev arrived home in the darkness to witness the aftermath. Joanies experience went from sitting talking to her sister about Florida's 'typical' afternoon thunderstorms to sensing that this one was different and realizing there was zero time to respond as it was upon the community without warning and within seconds!
We're both ok but are obviously struggling with some of the emotional and physical challenges that a situation like this threw our way. We are both especially grateful that no one was injured in our community. Especially given the extent of some of the damages. Our biggest challenge now the journey to rebuild.
For context, there is a home that flips in the vide, which is one street over and, at some point in the video, I swear our roof flies by. :(
Again, thank you for thinking of us.
