Rebuilding Jeffs Dream

On Thursday, September 29th a theft occurred at my brother, Jeff Stalnaker’s business while they were closed for Hurricane Ian. His enclosed trailer was stolen. Inside that trailer were 2 racecars that were very important to him and Stalnaker Racing team. Along with the racecars, there were numerous racing parts and tools.

With a few tips, Jeff was able to track down his enclosed trailer late Friday night.

Unfortunately, both cars and most of everything race related were gone from inside.

This was complete devastation for Jeff and the entire Stalnaker family.

With little help from local law enforcement at the time, Jeff decided to start his own investigation, and with the help of family and close friends, Saturday night and into Sunday morning, all items were recovered, but not in a way any racer would like to see. It was a total loss.

Short story, the suspect dug 2 very large holes (around 20’ + deep) with equipment that was on site. Both cars were put in this hole complete, stacked on top of each other, then buried with clay. They were completely destroyed. The other hole was full of all the racing parts (shocks, springs, carbs, tires, wheels, drums of fuel, firesuits, helmets, the list goes on).

Suspect was arrested and charged with 3 counts of grand theft, 2 counts of criminal mischief, tampering with evidence, carrying a concealed firearm unlicensed, and VOP

He was currently on probation for trailer theft from the year before. (This guy is a certified BAD guy.)

After this chain of events, Jeff completely gave up on himself and his racing. His dreams were destroyed.

But this community is not going to let that happen. Its time to help build this dream back! We cannot let this tragedy, stop not only Jeffs dreams, but the entire Stalnaker families dream of doing what they love, and that’s Racing.

The outpour of love and support that he has already received from all over, is absolutely amazing to see.

Jeff is a HUGE giver in the racing community and in the Marion County community, many times without anyone knowing all that he does to support others.

Jeff is a selfless leader, that works hard to do for others and to help others build their dreams.
