My Journey to The City that Never Sleeps
Donation protected
Hey Friends and Fam,
It's your optimistic starving artist back at it again. Due to COVID-19 my previous dreams of attending acting school in Los Angeles came to an abrupt end before it got started. However, this setback will only be the setup to an awesome comeback story built through the fire of perseverance and resilience. The Hub of Drama and theatre is in New York City, what better place to be to begin my acting career. On a whim, I applied to Terry Knickerbockers Studio in Brooklyn, Home of Jurnee Smollet, Jonathon Majors, and others. After a couple of applications and zoom interviews, I was shocked, yet thrilled to learn that I was accepted and offered a limited spot in the acting studio and will be taking my talents to the East Coast in hopes to further my craft.
If everyone who follows me on Instagram was able to donate $10 I'd have my first year paid for and over half of what I need. Imagine buying me a drink for my birthday at the bar but, instead of buying me a drink, you'll be contributing towards my education in pursuit of a lifelong dream. I, however, will accept anything with the utmost gratitude, and if you can't donate at this time, please share this with anyone you feel can contribute to this cause and send positivity energy my way. I would be forever grateful.
I also understand some people were hesitant to donate via gofundme so for those my venmo is @manniemendez , and cashapp is $EmmanuelMendez
Though Covid has hit me harder than I would have expected being in the service industry, this risk of moving to New York at this time is a risk that I have to take in pursuit of this once in a lifetime opportunity.
Please visit this link for more info on the studio I will be attending this upcoming spring.
