In the heart of the serene fishing village of Las Peñitas, in the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, Nayal Lodge, a beacon of hospitality and warmth, owned by our dear friends Jose and Cata, stood tall. Their small lodge, faced a calamity that no one could have foreseen.

On the 1st of March, a devastating wildfire, sparked by an act of irresponsibility, swept through our village. Our friends' lodge, a labor of love and dreams, was severely damaged. The fire did not just consume wood and walls; it took away the sanctuary of many, including Jose and Cata's beloved dogs, Luna and Noah, who tragically lost their life in the blaze.

Today, we reach out to you with heavy hearts but unwavering hope. Jose and Cata are not just lodge owners; they are pillars of our community, always the first to lend a hand and the last to ask for help. Their lodge was more than a business; it was a home to the travelers, a dream realized, and a source of livelihood for their dedicated staff from the local community.

We are starting this GoFundMe campaign to help Jose and Cata rebuild their lodge from the ashes. Unfortunately, insurance companies wouldn’t provide fire insurance.
