On February 25, 2026, a devastating fourth-alarm fire broke out in Intramuros, in Manila, destroying homes and leaving families with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.

According to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the fire escalated rapidly within minutes. By early evening, entire homes had been reduced to ashes.

One of those homes was Jade’s.

Thankfully, Jade, her sister, and her mother escaped safely. But they lost everything: their home, personal belongings, clothes, important documents, treasured memories, and the small everyday objects that make a house feel like a home.

Jade is not just a Facebook (long-distance) friend for me. She is a brilliant and deeply talented illustrator and cover artist. Her creativity, dedication, and passion for art have touched many people. She has worked hard to build her career through her talent and determination. Now, in a matter of hours, her family’s stability has vanished.

The local Church is currently helping with food and immediate support, but the road ahead is overwhelming. They now face the challenge of finding shelter, replacing essential documents, rebuilding basic living conditions, and starting again from nothing.

This fundraiser has been created with Jade’s approval to help her and her family rebuild their lives. The goal is to provide immediate relief, temporary accommodation, clothing, essential items, and the first steps toward rebuilding a safe place to live.

If we are generous, we may even be able to extend support beyond Jade’s family to assist the Church and neighboring families who also saw their homes turned to ashes that day.

Jade has always created beauty for others through her art. Today, she needs us.
