Rebuilding hope for Jason’s Future

Dear friends and compassionate souls,

My name is Jayson Ramos, and I am a single father who has been on an arduous journey alongside my beloved son, Jason. Just a year ago, Jason was a vibrant, straight A's honor student, brimming with potential and dreams of becoming a Nurse. Today, his world has drastically changed. The cancer treatment journey has left him weakened, with the ability to walk being a significant challenge.

Although we have seen rays of sunshine in our stormy sky, with the recent news of Jason being declared cancer-free, our battle is far from over. As a single parent, I had to make the heart-wrenching decision to leave my job to care for Jason. Being his primary caregiver has been both a privilege and a tremendous responsibility, but it has meant sacrificing our financial stability.

With each passing day, the mounting bills have cast a shadow over our lives. I find myself two months behind on mortgage payments, standing on the precipice of foreclosure. This home, the place where we have built countless memories, stands as our last haven. Losing it would be a devastating blow to our fragile sense of security.

However, I am not one to surrender to despair. I am determined to get back on my feet, and I am actively seeking employment to ensure a better future for both myself and my son. I am filled with gratitude as my mother has stepped forward to assist with Jason's care during this time when he remains stable.

Hace solo un año, Jason era un estudiante brillante, con calificaciones sobresalientes y rebosante de potencial y sueños de convertirse en enfermero. Hoy, su mundo ha cambiado drásticamente. El tratamiento contra el cáncer lo ha debilitado y caminar se ha convertido en un desafío importante.

Aunque hemos visto rayos de sol en nuestro cielo tormentoso, con la reciente noticia de que Jason ha sido declarado libre de cáncer, nuestra batalla está lejos de terminar. Como padre soltero, tuve que tomar la desgarradora decisión de dejar mi trabajo para cuidar de Jason. Ser su principal cuidador ha sido tanto un privilegio como una tremenda responsabilidad, pero ha significado sacrificar nuestra estabilidad financiera.

Con cada día que pasa, las facturas acumuladas han arrojado una sombra sobre nuestras vidas. Me encuentro dos meses atrasado en los pagos de la hipoteca, al borde de la ejecución hipotecaria. Esta casa, el lugar donde hemos construido innumerables recuerdos, es nuestro último refugio. Perderla sería un golpe devastador para nuestra frágil sensación de seguridad.

Sin embargo, no soy alguien que se rinde ante la desesperación. Estoy decidido a ponerme de pie y estoy buscando activamente empleo para asegurar un mejor futuro tanto para mí como para mi hijo. Estoy lleno de gratitud porque mi madre se ha presentado para ayudar con el cuidado de Jason durante este tiempo en el que él se mantiene estable.

Hoy me dirijo a ustedes, personas de corazón amable, que pueden empatizar con los desafíos que enfrentan los padres. Les solicito humildemente su apoyo y contribuciones.
