Rebuilding Hope for Betty Meadows & Keith Bresnahan

Let’s Rally Around Betty and Keith. ❤️

It’s devastating to see the Southern California fires destroy so much, but it’s even harder when it touches people you love. Our dear friends Betty Meadows and Keith Bresnahan lost their home in the Pacific Palisades fire. Their cozy 1948 bungalow—filled with love, laughter, and years of memories—was reduced to ashes.

When evacuation orders came, they had only minutes to grab the essentials: important documents, a few family photos, and their beloved Vizslas, Sioux and Cheetah. They fled through gridlocked traffic with not much more than the clothes on their backs. Hours later, videos showed their entire street engulfed in flames. By morning, only their brick chimney stood where their home once was.

If you know Betty, you know she’s the kind of person who always shows up. She’s the first to lend a hand, train your dog, bring you food, give you the shoes off her feet, or make you laugh when you need it most. Her heart is as big as her laugh, and her loyalty runs deep—whether it’s in the Vizsla community or among lifelong friends. Keith, newly retired after a long career in aerospace, had been looking forward to quiet days in the garden he had been nurturing for years.

Now, they’re facing the unimaginable—rebuilding their lives from nothing.

Knowing they would never ask for help on their own—and hearing from so many people who want to support them—we’re launching this GoFundMe to give everyone who loves them a way to help as they begin to rebuild. We want to make sure they feel the support of the community that cares so deeply for them.

Here’s how you can help:
GoFundMe: Donations will go directly to Betty and Keith to cover immediate needs like clothing, food, dog supplies, and temporary housing while they wait for insurance and other aid.

Send supplies: If you’d like to donate items, please reach out to Betty for her current shipping address. They're currently staying with generous friends with only their cars to store personal belongings. While supplies are very much needed and appreciated, Betty has asked that items not be shipped for a few weeks, until they're in a slightly more permanent location.

They’ve lost everything, but they haven’t lost us. Let’s surround Betty, Keith, and their Vizsla family with the same love and support they’ve given to so many of us. Every donation and kind word makes a difference. Please mark donations as a gift to avoid impacting any government aid they may receive.

Thank you for being part of their village. Let’s lift them up with love, kindness, and the strength of this community. ❤️
