Rebuilding Home and Hope: Help Beth, Brian and their pups

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sherry. I am fundraising for my friends Beth and Brian and their two dogs, Gibbs and Vala. When Hurricane Helene touched down, no one in the mountains could have anticipated the havoc it would unleash on them and their communities. You can see some of the damage in their home in Hendersonville, NC, in the pictures shared here. This family is no exception; they have lost all their worldly possessions. While I am sure that is weighing heavy on their hearts, Beth has continued to be positive and grateful for what they still have: each other, friends to offer support, and people who were strangers just a couple of weeks ago having open arms. Even in the face of adversity, they are modeling grace and resilience, which is no surprise to those who know them.

Beth and Brian, with strong ties to the Copper Country, moved to North Carolina for a career opportunity. Beth, originally from Ontonagon, and Brian, a former telecommunication technician at Michigan Tech, when the opportunity popped up to move to yet another rich history in mining, it made sense to fly there next. It was Beth's career move that prompted their relocation. Both Brian and Beth work behind the scenes, with Brian providing support and Beth fulfilling administrative healthcare roles, ensuring facilities adhere to legal and ethical standards. Beth's work includes creating protocols for harm reduction, ensuring compliance with regulations, and handling serious patient concerns and complaints. As someone who has dedicated their life to service in roles we often overlook, they have not only worked tirelessly in healthcare risk management, compliance to support patient safety, and ensuring communication stays open but also volunteered in the aftermath of the Father's Day flood in the Copper Country. Now, offering them the same support they have so selflessly given to others makes sense. I don't think any amount of money will match that, but it can be a start.

The money raised from this will go directly to them. When asked if I should mention anything of particular importance, Beth told me, "Towels and bedding, then furniture." I couldn't help but crack a small smile at the humble practicality. The only thing they were able to salvage was their television, and while it is wonderful that they could salvage something, the thought of that being the only thing they could salvage is heartbreaking. While many people are in need right now, supporting our friends and neighbors could be a meaningful first step if you're unsure where to start. Any amount, whether big or small, will significantly alleviate some of their stress so they can concentrate on recovery.

Please consider donating whatever you can to help the Agens during this challenging chapter of their lives. If you cannot donate, you can offer support by sharing this page with your family and friends. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Thank you so much for your generosity, love, and support. We are all incredibly grateful for any help you can provide.
