My aunt Debbie and cousin Taylor urgently need your help after losing their Burnsville townhome, which they owned, to condemnation caused by septic system failures and neglect due to Debbie’s spiraling health crisis. Since her knee surgery in 2022, Debbie’s health has deteriorated, with complications keeping her hospitalized and unable to maintain their home. The septic damage destroyed all their possessions, leaving nothing salvageable, and now they face homelessness.

Taylor, a daycare worker and Debbie’s devoted caregiver, can’t drive and has been couch surfing and paying for hotels in Burnsville while juggling her job and hospital visits to Fairview Ridges Hospital. The loss of their owned townhome, coupled with Debbie’s need for ongoing nursing care, has left them in a desperate situation. They need a new one-bedroom apartment together and support for Debbie’s recovery to rebuild their lives.

We’re raising $15,000 to cover critical needs in Burnsville:

$6,000: Deposit and first month’s rent for an accessible one-bedroom apartment for Debbie and Taylor (based on Burnsville’s average one-bedroom rent of ~$1,500/month plus deposit).

$2,500: Temporary hotel stays for Taylor (e.g., at Fairfield Inn) until they secure an apartment, as Debbie remains hospitalized.

$4,000: Nursing assistance for Debbie, including in-home care or medical aides post-discharge to support her recovery.

$1,500: Medical expenses for Debbie, such as medications, mobility aids (e.g., walker or wheelchair), or hospital co-pays.

$1,000: Transportation (rideshares like Lyft or gas) for Taylor to visit the hospital, get to work, and attend housing appointments.
