Rebuilding Happi Hippi Homestead: Call for Support
Donation protected
Dear friends and supporters,
Nearly four years ago, we embarked on a mission to feed our community with high-quality, nutrient-dense, mountain-grown, and local foods. Happi Hippi Homestead was born, and over the past three years, we've had the honor of feeding hundreds of people. Our journey has been fueled by passion and a commitment to food sovereignty.
As we gear up for another market gardening season, we find ourselves at a crossroads. Our sacred home, the heart of our mission, is unfortunately no longer safe to reside in. Last February, Ashley's health took a turn for the worse, leading us to the discovery of toxic black mold infesting our home.
After months of declining health for our family and extensive investigations, we uncovered the extent of the problem. Our home requires a complete overhaul, including a new roof, ceiling, and insulation due to the unsafe original structure. We've been forced to move out to protect our health.
We're eager to return to our home, this time without the threat of illness. Our 4 year old son, Cedar, is longing for a safe space to read, play, and learn. And the two of us are eager to resume farming activities and have family meals around our dinner table again.
Despite this financial strain, we are turning to our incredible community for help. We believe in the importance of our mission to provide locally sourced, nutritious food, but the current situation hinders our ability to achieve our goals for the upcoming season.
We're reaching out on GoFundMe to humbly ask for your support. Your contribution will go directly towards the rehabilitation of our home and our health, allowing us to continue our mission and serve our community. We understand the power of community, and we are immensely grateful for any support you can provide during this challenging time.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and for helping us overcome this obstacle. Together, we can rebuild our home and continue the fight for food sovereignty.
With gratitude,
Ashley, Treaver and Cedar at Happi Hippi Homestead
