My heart is heavy as I write this. My grandmother’s house—the place that held decades of memories, love, and family—was taken from us in a fire. This wasn’t just a house. It was home.

This was the place where she raised her family, where holidays were celebrated, where laughter filled the rooms, and where everyone knew they were always welcome. Every corner held a memory: old photos on the walls, the smell of her cooking, the couch where she told stories and gave advice that only a grandmother could give.

In a matter of moments, everything was gone.

My grandmother lost not only her home, but irreplaceable belongings—family photos, keepsakes, and memories that can never be replaced. At a time when she should feel safe and at peace, she is now faced with the overwhelming reality of starting over.
