Widow And Single Mom Rebuilding From Lahaina Fire
Donation protected
Aki, a widow, and her 8 year old daughter Mahina narrowly escaped the historic Lahaina fire with nothing but the clothes on their back and their dog, Duke. They have lost everything. Aki needs a new place (deposit, first and last month's rent, furniture) and to set up a stable home for Mahina. As Aki was already a widow, she is the sole provider for Mahina. 100% of donations will go to Aki rebuilding her life for Mahina and herself on Maui.
Below are pictures of what was left of Aki and Mahina's home. Everything they owned, including Mahina's pet fish, perished.
This is an unprecedented disaster with thousands of displaced families and there is a shortage of long term housing in Hawaii as it is.
Every little bit helps this single mom rebuild life for her beautiful daughter and start over.
Aki is a good friend of my brother, a Lahaina firefighter who first hand fought this horrific fire that destroyed the entire town of Lahaina, and myself, and we know first-hand what a loving mother Aki is. Mahalo
