My name is Lizanne Gomez and I am writing this on behalf of my parents David and Gladys.

I never thought I would be writing something like this, my worst nightmare happened while my parents were asleep in their home in Ridgewood, Queens.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday January 6th a five alarm fire broke out and engulfed the entire building, leaving my father with 2nd degree burns to his hands while trying to get my mom out of the building and attempting to rescue our two beloved cats Sox and Korra.

We do not believe Sox and Korra made it out and we are heartbroken, this fire has left my parents world upside down.

My father is currently in stable condition recovering, but this fire will be leaving my parents displaced with nothing as all of their belongings are gone.

My entire family is incredibly thankful that they made it out with their lives. I am putting this together because I want to help give my parents a head start after this devastating loss.

Anything and everything helps, whether through clothing or donations, my parents will be thankful for anything.
