Aloha everyone! My name is Libbi and I'd love to support my good friends Emily and Kenji after the catastrophic flooding in Hawaii. I have known Kenji for 20+ years and met Emilie as soon as they started dating.
You've probably seen the devastating storms that swept through Hawaii, and caused flooding and damage to many peoples properties. Our good friends Emilie Harrell and Kenji Ashman are now facing one of the hardest moments of their lives as they experienced the recent flooding on Oahus North Shore and had their home be severely damaged.
Their place of safety and comfort has been turned upside down. Their home sustained major flooding, leaving entire rooms destroyed and in need of complete remodeling. Walls and flooring have been ruined beyond repair with water and mud covering many surfaces.
Both of their cars were flooded. Their washer, dryer, computers and monitors were destroyed. Their beds and personal belongings are ruined. Their refrigerator and kitchen appliances are damaged.
This is not just property damage—this is their daily life, their stability, and their sense of home.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is who Emilie and Kenji are. Many of us know them but for those of you that don't , Kenji was born and raised in Hawaiʻi and has dedicated over 10 years serving the community as an EMT, providing life-saving care to those in need during their most vulnerable moments.
Emilie has spent over a decade as a social worker, helping survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and individuals struggling with addiction. She has given her heart to uplifting others and has recently taken a courageous step to open a small business focused on water healing, creating a safe and restorative space for people with disabilities.
They have spent their lives showing up for others—and now, they need us.
We are asking for your support to help Emilie and Kenji rebuild their home and recover from this devastating loss.
Funds will go toward:
Home repairs and rebuilding
Replacing essential appliances and furniture
Restoring safe living conditions
Replacing vehicles and critical tools for work
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world.
Let’s help them rebuild not just their home—but their peace of mind.
