Rebuilding Dreams:A Journey from Devastation to Hope in Gaza

The experience of suffering through the war in Gaza cannot be summarized or described, nor imagined by the human mind. However, I will try to provide a brief overview of my personal experience:

I am Engineer Ibrahim Younis from Gaza City, with qualifications in engineering and sciences. I am married with three children, living a peaceful life filled with laughter and joy. I envision a future for my children, planning their hobbies and aspirations on paper, striving to achieve them. I have been working in my preferred profession of digital marketing for 10 years, assisting startups in rising, evolving, and venturing into the world of entrepreneurship. I have several contracts with diverse companies, known for my punctuality and full commitment to assigned tasks. Recently, I was progressing significantly towards achieving my dream and passion as an international consultant for global companies in digital marketing.

But the dream abruptly shattered with the onset of the war on Gaza. In moments, years of planning and effort vanished into the abyss. Everything was lost – home, work, and even dreams. My work contracts came to a complete halt due to the total power outage in all areas of Gaza. Additionally, my home was almost completely destroyed, a gradual construction effort over the years, burying our laughter and beautiful memories. Today, I am homeless and jobless for 7 months, forced into displacement towards safe shelter areas, lacking basic infrastructure, enduring severe cold, and facing acute shortages of water and food.

My simple dream now is to rehabilitate my home for habitation and move out of the danger zone to safety, to preserve what little remains in my life – my children, the eldest of whom is not yet 6 years old. I aim to bring back smiles to their faces, as fear and terror disrupt their sleep. Let's start anew towards a life filled with hope and vitality, searching once again for companies to work with.

تجربة معاناة الحرب على غزة لا يمكن تلخيصها ولا يمكن وصفها وتخيلها بالعقل البشري، إلا أنني سأحاول تقديم نبذة مختصرة عن تجربتي الشخصية:

أنا المهندس إبراهيم يونس من مدينة غزة، أمتلك مؤهلات علمية في الهندسة والعلوم، متزوج ولي ثلاث من الأبناء، أعيش أنا وأسرتي حياة هادئة مليئة بالضحكات والفرح، وأرسم مستقبل أطفالي وهواياتهم على الورق تخطيطاً وسعياً نحو تنفيذها، أعمل في مهنتي المفضلة وهي التسويق الإلكتروني منذ 10 سنوات، حيث أساعد الشركات الناشئة في النهوض والتطور والانطلاق نحو عالم الريادة، لدي العديد من التعاقدات مع شركات متنوعة، أتصف بالدقة في المواعيد والالتزام الكامل في تنفيذ المهام الموكلة لي، لذا بدأت في الآونة الأخيرة أتطور بشكل كبير مقترباً نحو تحقيق حلمي وشغفي كمستشار دولي للشركات العالمية في التسويق الإلكتروني.

ولكن الحلم انقطع بشكل مفاجئ وفي لحظات قصيرة ذهب تخطيط وجهد سنوات طويلة بعيداً نحو الهاوية مع بداية كابوس الحرب على مدينة غزة، حيث تم فقدان كل شئ، فقدت كل شئ بلا استثناء: المنزل والعمل وحتى الأحلام..

توقفت تعاقدات عملي بشكل كامل مع الشركات التي أعمل معها منذ سنوات عديدة بسبب توقف الكهرباء بالكامل عن جميع مناطق قطاع غزة، كذلك تدمير منزلي بشكل شبه كامل الذي عملت على إنشائه بالتدريج على مدار سنوات عديدة، ليندفن المنزل وتندفن معه ضحكاتنا وذكرياتنا الجميلة، ولأصبح اليوم مشرداً بلا مأوى ولا عمل منذ 7 شهور، ولم يتوقف الأمر على هذا الحال، بل بدأت رحلة النزوح نحو مناطق الإيواء الآمنة داخل خيام مؤقتة تفتقر إلى البنية التحتية الأساسية، وتتسم بالبرد الشديد والنقص الحاد في المياه والغذاء.

كل ما أحلم به الآن حلم بسيط وهو إعادة تأهيل منزلي للسكن والخروج من منطقة الخطر إلى خارج قطاع غزة نحو الأمان، وذلك لأحافظ على ما تبقي لي في هذه الحياة وهم أطفالي الذين لم يتجاوز أكبرهم 6 أعوام، لتعود البسمة من جديد على شفاه أطفالي الذين بدأ الخوف والرعب يسبب لهم الفزع من نومهم، ولنبدأ من جديد نحو الحياة المفعمة بالأمل والحيوية، ولنبدأ من جديد بالبحث عن شركات للعمل معها
