Rebuilding Beirut Brick by Brick! Day by Day

Due to the huge demand of family and friends asking where they can donate we have decided to set up this page as we are on the ground and have the ability to distribute funds where needed. Over the last year Lebanon has faced forest fires, a revolution, a pandemic, economic collapse and now this! The currency has gone from $1 = LL1500 to $1 = LL7500 (the Lebanese Lira has lost 80% of its value). For a country that relies hugly on imports, purchase power for the average citizen has dramatically decreased!
We know whatever contribution we all make will be small relative to the enormous scale of the damage from the explosion, but we hope that by offering some small donations, we will be able to alleviate, just for a moment, some of the many stresses the people of Beirut are dealing with right now. There is a lot of aid coming in from various countries and organisations, mainly including food and medical supplies but a lot of people on the ground are in urgent need of assistance and cannot afford to wait until aid channels through to them. We aim to use these funds in order to provide food, medical and building supplies.
A prime example of people affected is an old couple who have lived in the Mar Mikhayel area of Beirut for 30 years and own a small corner shop. Due to the huge blast, their small shop which is their only source of income, is shattered but can be repaired. They currently sleep in their shop despite their injuries in order to make sure their stock and products are safe and that they can still provide for the people around them. This is where the first of the donations will go and we will be reaching out to people in similar situations.
We will strive to provide you with accurate updates regarding the channelling of your funds, putting forward receipts and pictures when possible.
We promise any contribution however small will be passed directly through our hands onto those we see in immediate need. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
