In May 2023, my sister Annalieza's life changed in an instant.

Annalieza is the kind of person who lights up every room she walks into. She’s vibrant, kind, and full of life—the type of person who makes others feel seen, valued, and uplifted. At the time of her accident, she was just stepping into an exciting new chapter, building momentum in a promising modeling career and creating a future full of possibility.

Then, everything changed.

A devastating fall left Annalieza with 9 facial fractures. The injuries were severe—she lost a third of her teeth and has since endured several painful and complex surgeries. What followed has been an incredibly difficult and ongoing journey.

Despite living in Canada, Annalieza has faced the harsh reality of gaps in the medical system. She has been caught between medical and dental care, receiving conflicting opinions and undergoing procedures that had to be redone due to complications. Her jaw has been surgically broken, repaired, and then broken again in an attempt to correct earlier outcomes.

She is still waiting for additional surgeries.

Even more challenging is the fact that many of these necessary procedures have been classified as “cosmetic,” leaving Annalieza responsible for overwhelming out-of-pocket costs. So far, she has already spent thousands of dollars just trying to regain basic function.

To fully restore her ability to eat, speak, and smile, Annalieza now requires multiple dental implants. Each tooth and post costs approximately $5,000—and she needs at least five.
