Rebuilding After the Milwaukee Storage Fire

Donation protected
On January 21st, a devastating fire recently tore through a large storage facility here in Milwaukee and unfortunately, my storage unit was inside it. Much of the property was damaged or destroyed.

I moved to Milwaukee just a couple of months ago and had been using this unit temporarily while transitioning into my apartment. Because I planned to move everything out soon, I did not have insurance on the unit. Just days before the fire, I had even added more personal items into storage, never imagining something like this would happen.

Inside that unit were many important things: my children’s belongings (books, clothes, toys, and a car seat), items for my candle business, seasonal clothing, furniture, family pictures, and personal keepsakes. All of it, significantly damaged.

This chapter is part of my life and journey, something I document and reflect on, which makes it all the more meaningful to me. I’m sharing this not for pity, but to reach out to the community for support as I rebuild. I truly believe in leaving things in God’s hands, and I’m doing my best to move forward with faith and gratitude but replacing essential items and business supplies comes with real costs.

Any contribution, share, or kind words is deeply appreciated. Also, you can follow along my journey on YouTube: @lotusmonay

Thank you for supporting me during this unexpected transition. It truly means more than you know.
