Rebuilding After The Marshall Fire in Boulder, CO

Hello everybody,

My name is Dalton Lukasik and I am asking for donations to assist in my recovery from the Marshall Fire crisis that began in Boulder County on 12/30/21.

I moved to Colorado in 2014 from Antioch, IL to complete my education in biology and have been living and working in the Boulder area for several years. Since moving here, I have developed a number of outdoor-related hobbies, including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and camping. Additionally, I have two Australian Shepherd dogs, Rucker and Whiskey, who have encouraged my love of outdoor recreation.

All people and pets living in my home are safe and sound. My home and belongings, along with approximately 1,000 others, were destroyed over the course of 48 hours in what is now the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history. My immediate short-term needs, such as food, shelter, clothing, and pet supplies have been met. Many people have reached out to me asking how they can help, and so I am organizing this campaign to provide a way in which people can help me rebuild my life for the long-term. Many have offered supplies such as furniture and kitchenware; as I do not yet have a place to store these items, please check in with me down the road to offer these items again when I settle in somewhere.

I am grateful for the community support that has been available for myself and others during this crisis. As I rebuild my life and possessions, I look forward to spending time with all of the wonderful people I have come to know and love. I do not yet know what the silver lining of this situation will be, but I eagerly anticipate discovering it over time.
