Hi everyone,
I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but our family is in urgent need of help.
My dad recently moved to Louisiana for a work contract, pouring all of his time, money, and energy into building a stable life there. He is a hardworking blue-collar man who has always helped others—whether it was showing up when someone needed a hand, giving when he barely had extra, or working countless hours to provide.
This week, an unexpected and severe ice storm destroyed everything he had.
The awning on his camper collapsed from the weight of the ice, causing catastrophic damage. The campground where he and my stepmom were living is completely destroyed. Campers collapsed, houseboats sank, and even the waterfront restaurant went under. What was once their home and livelihood is now gone.
My dad and stepmom lost everything—their shelter, belongings, and sense of security—in a matter of hours.
My dad is not the kind of man who asks for help. He is strong, proud, and always the one helping others. But this loss has broken him. After years of nonstop work, he is left starting over from nothing.
We are raising funds to help them:
• Replace basic necessities
• Secure temporary housing
• Repair or replace their camper
• Cover unexpected expenses caused by the storm
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting two people who truly deserve a chance to rebuild.
With gratitude,
Torie Dunbar, Daughter Of An Amazing Father
