Navigating the Aftermath of the Flood: The Megnin's
Donation protected

Imagine being on the cusp of retirement, planning out the next phase of your life after putting in years of hard-work, long hours, nights and weekends, etc. as a middle-class blue collar family-when in an instant your plans shift from traveling, spending time with family, and embracing your golden years, to staring the down the barrel of a 30-year mortgage because your home and everything you've worked for was washed away in an instant.
Jackie and Jimmy, both union members (USW Local 1000 and Local 277 of the Carpenter's union) are tackled with just that.
After the flood on August 9, 2024, these two were left to pick up the pieces of their home that has been left in shambles after taking on over 4 ft. of water. They lost all contents of their home, including the furnace, hot water tank, A.C. unit, and even Jimmy's tools he's accumulated over the past 40 years.
But it doesn't stop there.
Their quaint ranch-style home was knocked off of it's foundation. And you guessed it-insurance will not cover a thing.
As you can imagine, the house is unlivable due to the extent of the damage, and it's uncertain if the home is salvageable at this point. It's a waiting game to see if their beloved dwelling can be repaired or if they'll have to completely start over.
Both options are equally costly.
These donations will bridge this couple through the next steps of their lives.
If you have the means to do so, please consider donating. Any amount will help. It's times like these that we must rally together for one another ♡
Thank you!
