hello arcata family, and brandon & i’s wider community,
many of us witnessed the devastating fire that demolished the H & 10th block of our beloved town
its unforeseen tragedies such as these that show the roots of the beautiful community brandon and I are eternally grateful to be embraced by.
brandon and i resided above ace hardware, a space where we hosted countless gathering with our dearest friends, always had an open door to those we danced and laughed and shared our love for jam bands with at humbrews shows, and a gathering place before the Saturday farmers market. we built the foundation of our partnership in this home, and shared our fondest memories within those walls.
we lost everything in the fire, everything we had collected separately throughout our lives and together throughout this past year.
so many of our belongings are irreplaceable, as our home was a time capsule of our love, and family heirlooms that represented the love of the generations that came before us.
it was with the heaviest heart that we recently spread the news of our impending move to San Luis Obispo, where brandon is studying to become an airplane mechanic. this has been a shocking end to our magical time here together.
our hearts extend to the businesses central to the most incredible place in the world, and our neighbors who are experiencing the grief we are feeling.
of any community we could holds hands with through this travesty, we feel deep gratitude to be held by arcata and wider humboldt friends.
we love you all, your finger prints are all over our hearts.
emilee and brandon
