IMPORTANT UPDATE (Please Read First)

We would like to share a heartfelt update and thank every one of you for the incredible love and support you have shown our family.

After GoFundMe processing fees, and once the bank has cleared the funds a total of $8,218.74 will be distributed from what has been raised up to this point. These funds are being shared evenly among the family members affected by the fire to help with their immediate and essential needs and housing along with a portion going toward required permits that allow us to safely enter the home, clean, and begin the rebuild process.

This GoFundMe will remain active and will continue to be shared. However, we want to be fully transparent with all of you, because your kindness and trust mean everything to us. ALL donations moving forward will be used solely for rebuilding-related expenses, including remaining permits, demolition, cleanup, materials, and other necessary costs to restore and rebuild the home.

We are truly overwhelmed by the kindness, compassion, and generosity that has been shown to our family. Your support has brought comfort, hope, and strength during a time of unimaginable loss, and we are deeply grateful to each and every one of you for standing beside us.

✅ ORIGINAL STORY:

Hello everyone my name is Michael, on February 9, 2026, my family’s world was completely shattered in just a matter of seconds. My sister, my 1 year old nephew, and my mother lost their home, their car, and absolutely everything they own in a devastating house fire in Indio, California.

This was not just any house, this was our family home, the place we all grew up in, filled with a lifetime of milestones, and memories. In an instant, they lost everything, including all childhood memories, irreplaceable photos, keepsakes, and our family mementos that can never be replaced.

They also lost their safe place, their clothing, bedding, personal items, and everything that made their house a home. My sister is a full-time college student, and she lost all of her school supplies including her laptop, which she relies on to continue her education to provide a better life for her and her sons. My nephew also lost all of his belongings, including clothes, diapers, toys, crib and all essential items.

Right now, they are starting completely from scratch. They will need help with:

- Temporary housing

- Living expenses

- Food and basic necessities

- Clothing and bedding

- Baby essentials

- And anything that can go toward a new vehicle for my sister and my nephew.

Anything beyond their immediate and essential needs will go toward demolition, clean up and rebuilding a new home.

As heartbreaking as this is, we are beyond grateful that they all made it out alive and unharmed. That is the greatest blessing in this tragedy, but the emotional and financial burden they now carry is unimaginable.

All donations and proceeds will go directly to my sister for her and her son and also to my mother the help them navigate their next steps in this journey.
