My Journey from Gaza to Canada:
In March 2025, my life changed forever.
I left Gaza after living through one of the hardest periods of my life.
I stayed there for five months.
In August, I arrived in Canada.
A new country. A new beginning. No savings. No stability. Just hope and the will to start again from zero.
I never imagined I would have to leave my home to survive.
During the war in Gaza, my life changed forever. I lived through fear that words cannot fully describe—days and nights of bombing, loss, hunger, and constant uncertainty. Every moment was about survival. I lost safety, stability, and the simple feeling of being human. Like so many others, I carried trauma that I still live with today.
By a miracle, I was able to escape and start over in Canada. I am deeply grateful to be safe now—but safety does not erase what was taken from me. Starting again from nothing in a new country is harder than I ever imagined. I have no financial support, no savings, and no family wealth to lean on. I am trying to rebuild my life from zero.
What I do have is hope—and a dream.
Food has always been my way of holding onto home. Falafel is not just food to me; it’s Palestinian culture, memory, and comfort. It reminds me of family, of normal life before the war, of who I am. I want to share this with others by starting a small Palestinian falafel food truck in the Niagara region.
This food truck is more than a business.
It is my chance to stand on my own feet again.
It is my way of turning pain into purpose.
It is how I can rebuild my dignity and my future.
To make this dream possible, I need help with the basic startup costs:
Food truck: $20,000
Renting a location (1 year): $6,000
Equipment: $4,000
Total needed: $30,000
This amount feels overwhelming to me alone. After everything I’ve been through, I simply cannot reach it without support.
If you are able to donate, even a small amount, you are helping a survivor of war rebuild a life with dignity. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign means just as much.
From Gaza to Canada, from survival to hope—thank you for reading my story, for caring, and for helping me take this step toward a future built on peace, culture, and honest work.
With gratitude from my heart.
