I am Louie Delaware, founder of The Living In Place Institute™. My family lives in Louisville, Colorado and our home, where we have lived for over 20 years, was burned to the ground in last week’s Marshall Fire. Having lost everything has been a challenge for us; however, it is even a greater challenge for those who lack the resources to reestablish themselves. I am humbled and grateful for the outpouring of support and love for my family, as well as my team rising to the occasion to help rebuild others’ homes in the communities affected by fire and the recent tornados. Graduates of the Living In Place Institute are uniquely qualified to offer support through the Living In Place Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Oftentimes, when there are no other resources or insurance policies available to serve individuals, they are left to fend for themselves. The Living In Place Foundation is set up to provide services to families looking to rebuild to accommodate their immediate needs. The Living In Place Foundation is prepared to offer these victims:
- A budget for design services from Certified Living In Place Professionals (CLIPP™), goods, and services.
- People who have lost uninsurable essential items to facilitate tasks of daily living, such as: lifts, ramps, grab bars, electronics, security, and other comforts to ensure independence and dignity.
- Management of vendor partner in-kind donations to be distributed to the community
- Free education for qualified industry professionals to become a Certified Living In Place Professional (CLIPP™) to help others.
The Foundation is soliciting donations, whether cash or in-kind, to be able to help others here in Colorado as well as the areas devastated by the recent tornados. All donations will be documented on the Living In Place Foundation site.
