Hi my friends,
I am in my 30s and recently graduated with a master’s degree. Since a traumatic incident in late May, I have applied to approximately 150 jobs without success while facing unexpected expenses, mounting debt, and ongoing PTSD as I work to regain stability and rebuild my career.
I've been the victim of a violent carjacking and criminal threat. I was forced into my own vehicle while the suspect took control, held against my will for nearly two hours, robbed of my phone and keys, and repeatedly threatened with death whenever I attempted to escape. I truly feared for my life.
During the incident, my car was violently crashed into walls, guardrails, and a large tree, leaving it severely damaged and ultimately deemed a total loss. Although the suspect was arrested, my insurance did not cover the full balance, leaving me with more than $6,000 in debt. This balance remaining on my record has negatively impacted my credit score and financial history.
Since the incident, I have been struggling to work and manage PTSD-related fear, anxiety, and trauma. As a single woman who recently obtained my master’s degree, I had plans to build a stable future and start my own business. I remain focused on maintaining financial responsibility, meeting my obligations, and finding practical solutions that allow me to continue building my career and rebuilding my life.
I am seeking $10,000, which will be used as follows:
- $6,000 — Pay off remaining auto loan and rental car debt not covered by insurance
- $4,000 — Cover incident-related expenses, including securing a reliable vehicle for daily transportation and work (down payment, registration, and insurance). This support will also help me continue to work and rebuild my life while managing PTSD-related challenges, including fear, anxiety, and trauma.
Any contribution, no matter how small, or even sharing this fundraiser, would mean more than I can express. Every bit of support is truly priceless.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Your kindness and support truly mean the world to me—thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me take the first steps toward healing, stability, and hope.
