Hi, my name is Lashel Jones, and I never imagined I would be writing something like this.

Recently, my home was broken into, and nearly everything of value—both financially and emotionally—was taken from my family. In just one night, our sense of safety was shattered.

The burglars stole all of my mother’s jewelry and purses, items that held decades of memories and family history. They took my cowboy boots, my engagement ring, four televisions, two desktop computers—one belonging to my mother and one to my son—and all of my son’s shoes and clothing while he was away for the weekend. They also stole every one of his Christmas gifts, leaving us heartbroken just days before Christmas and unsure how we will replace them.

They also took all of my husband’s shoes, two Apple Watches, cologne and perfume, and many other personal belongings.

One of the most devastating losses was a flash drive containing my late mother’s poems—pieces of her heart and legacy that can never be replaced. I was in the early stages of having her poems published into a second book, and losing them has been absolutely heartbreaking.

What has been especially unsettling is that large furniture, including our couches, was pulled away from the walls, as if they planned to come back for more.

This wasn’t just a burglary. It was the loss of irreplaceable memories, hard-earned belongings, and the feeling of safety in our own home. We are doing our best to stay strong for our son, but the emotional and financial impact has been overwhelming.

We are asking for help to replace essential items, provide Christmas for our son, and begin rebuilding our sense of security. Any donation, share, or prayer means more to us than we can express.
