Rebuilding After a Fire and Tragic Loss
Donation protected
On Easter Sunday, our family experienced a great tragedy. Phuthi, our cousin’s 16 year-old child, died from smoke inhalation when our Aunt Mampabi’s home of over 40 years was lost to a fire. In the words of one of her close friends, Phuthi had a million dollar smile that melted the hearts of everyone around her.
Aunt Mampabi’s house was also home to her two children and two grandchildren. As they struggle to cope with this profound loss, we’d like to help them by raising funds to rebuild and refurnish their home.
A dollar goes a long way in Lesotho; anything you’re able to donate would be a huge help and greatly appreciated. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with people you know would mean the world.
Phuthi had profound autism and, throughout her life, received support from Intellectual Disability and Autism Lesotho (IDAL). Any extra funds we receive will be donated to IDAL, so they can continue to support youth with disabilities and their families.
Thank you!
Note on Funds and Transfer:
This fundraiser is being organized in the United States, but the funds are intended to support a family living in Lesotho. All donations will be securely withdrawn to a U.S. bank account and then transferred internationally. My family and I will handle the transfer directly to ensure the funds reach our loved ones in Lesotho safely and are available for their immediate needs.
