Salt has been produced in the Agehama style for about 1,300 years in Noto.

In 1627, Lord Toshitsuna Maeda, the third lord of the Kaga Domain, established a monopoly on salt production in order to secure valuable financial resources for the domain, and encouraged salt production in the Noto Peninsula area. Noto's seawater salt is rich in minerals.

However, at 16:10 on January 1, 2024, a major earthquake of magnitude 7.6 struck the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture, causing extensive damage to Noto's salt production.

The sea is far away on the uplifted land, and the earthquake and tsunami have devastated the seawater storage tanks and salt mills.

First of all, we want to rebuild our "saltworks" as soon as possible and deliver Noto salt to the rest of the country again. We have also launched this project to encourage our friends who are making salt in Suzu, and to preserve the tradition of salt making without being defeated by the earthquake.

Professional chefs use our Noto Suzu salt.

*Your donation will be used to cover the cost of sending out thank-you letter for your application and to partially fund the reconstruction of the new sea salt industry.

Schedule

March 18, 2024: Start of crowdfunding.

May 17, 2024: Crowdfunding ends.

May 20, 2024: Construction work is scheduled to begin.

Note

This crowdfunding will be conducted on an ALL-IN basis. Even if the target amount is not reached, the crowdfunding will be approved, and the project will be implemented according to the amount of money raised.

If the amount raised exceeds the target, we will provide information on how the funds will be used in a separate activity report. Please understand that the details of the project may change or be delayed in light of the ever-changing situation, but no refunds will be made. On the other hand, if the project is completely cancelled, we will refund your money.

能登半島地震と津波で壊れた製塩所を再建し、能登の塩を全世界に届けたい

はじめまして。石川県珠洲市にある新海塩産業店主の紅谷光昭と申します。ページをご覧いただきありがとうございます。

能登の塩づくりは約1,300年前から揚げ浜式の塩づくりが行われてきました。

江戸時代になり藩政期に入ってからは、貴重な藩財源の確保のために加賀藩主三代前田利常公が、寛永4年（1627 年）専売制を敷き、能登半島一帯に揚げ浜式製塩を奨励したことから珠洲では塩づくりが盛んになり現在も昔ながらの製法や弊社のような流下式塩田法など近年確立された豊富でミネラル豊富な能登の海水塩を作ってきました。
