I'm Hadi Abudaya, here to initiate a campaign for my beloved cousin, Belal Ahel, and his extraordinary family.

Like countless Palestinians, they aspire to a better life amidst numerous adversities. I'm reaching out to you, relying on your generous donations, to gather the necessary funds to navigate the complexities of crossing the Rafah border into Egypt. I will elaborate on their current plight, detailing the challenges they face and the hope they harbor for a brighter future.

At the beginning of the war on Gaza, his family's home was bombed, and Belal's father, mother, sisters, and nephews were all martyred, leaving them displaced and bereft. Their journey since then has been marked by relentless hardships. They have lived in tents, endured constant fear, and faced repeated bombings that forced them to move from one temporary shelter to another.

Belal was initially living in the Umm al-Tuffah area, but the intense bombings forced him to seek refuge in al-Shuja'iyya, where they lived with relatives for a period until even that place was bombed. They then sought shelter in al-Shifa Hospital, hoping for safety, but even there, they faced raids that forced them to flee back to Shuja'iyya. This cycle repeated several times until they found refuge with a friend in North Gaza, where they currently reside in challenging conditions.

Adding to their struggles, Belal's wife is expecting a baby, adding urgency to their need for a stable and secure environment.

The cost for each individual to depart Gaza and coordinate with the Rafah crossing for Egyptians is a significant $5,000 USD. For Belal and his wife, this accumulates to $10,000, while for children under 15, it stands at $2,500 each. Hence, the overall sum needed for their departure totals $15,000 USD ($20,622.3 CAD in today conversion rate). After adding GoFundMe's fees on top of that and have adding a third child's fees (in case of his wife delivers by the time we reach the goal), this will total up to $25,000 CAD.
