Help Marc and Siblings Rebuild Home

For those who don’t know, my name is Marc Anthony Muñoz and unfortunately in the late night hours of February 18th my three younger siblings and I had the frightening experience of a huge fire accident. Around 10:30 that night I was woken up to the smell of smoke by my little sister. After securing the kids I quickly realized how out of control things were getting. From screams and the smell of smoke and feelings of intense heat, I knew that I was running out of time. As my lungs started to fill with smoke, my eyes filled with tears and my body full with adrenaline, I knew that I had to stay strong and take quick action for them and do my best in the next few moments.

We were very blessed and fortunate to escape safely with our lives and without any injury. Sadly the entire home was quickly engulfed in flames and almost fully destroyed.

The fire trucks and investigators didn’t leave the scene until about 4 in the morning. As they left, I stood as tall as I could with my broken heart in hand and embraced the truth that my family, my younger siblings and I had lost everything. I managed to recover only 4 boxes worth of memories for my family. It isn’t much but knowing that I was able to walk away with all lives still intact makes me so much more grateful.

My family and I were hit big mentally but we are doing our best to stay strong. Due to the huge fire, all toys, school materials, clothes, phones and a newly purchased car were lost.
