Eyre is a longtime member of The Bloc with extraordinary potential. From Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood, Eyre uses his gritty, no-nonsense nature for success in the ring and classroom. He earned entry into the West Side's most prestigious selective enrollment high school while building himself into one of The Bloc's most reliable boxers and leaders.

On Sunday, January 12, an electrical fire swept through the upstairs of the apartment building where Eyre and his family live. While everyone escaped safely, the family is now without their home with most of their belongings destroyed.

Eyre cannot attend school or training without clothes or materials. They do not know if or when they will be able to return to their home. Amid unprecedented forest fires in California, we worry that Red Cross housing assistance will be delayed or inadequate.
